Safe & Effective Pet Surgeries

Our doctors at East Ridge Animal Hospital can perform a number of soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures, including a spay & neuter in Chattanooga, TN, using the latest techniques and equipment. However, we also incorporate Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) in the form of acupuncture.
If your pet is a candidate for surgery, please schedule an appointment for a full evaluation. Your pet’s species, breed, age and health will all be taken into consideration before a surgical procedure is chosen. Additionally, these factors can affect any decisions involving anesthesia.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can’t afford my pet’s surgery?

We never want cost to stand in the way of your pet getting the care they need. We’ll work with you to find a treatment plan that fits your budget. We also offer Trupanion pet insurance and Care Credit financing to help make costs more manageable. We’re here to help!

Does my pet have to fast before surgery?

Yes, this is very important. Please don’t feed your pet for 10-12 hours before their surgery to keep them safe during anesthesia. Water is usually fine, but check with us if you’re unsure.

When should I call the vet after surgery?

You know your pet best. Call us right away if you notice:

  • The incision: Looks really red, swollen, or is bleeding/gooey.
  • Their energy: They are extremely sluggish or unresponsive.
  • Their comfort: They seem to be in a lot of pain, even with medication.
  • If something doesn’t seem right, trust your gut and give us a call!
