Frequently Asked Questions
Is it dangerous to vaccinate my pet?
Not at all! Vaccinations are very safe and one of the best ways to protect your furry friend. While there’s a small chance of mild side effects, it’s nothing compared to the serious dangers of diseases like rabies or parvovirus. The protection they provide is well worth it.
Can a vaccinated dog still get rabies?
It’s extremely unlikely, but no vaccine is 100% effective. If your vaccinated dog is ever exposed to rabies, there is a tiny chance they could still get sick. If you’re ever worried about exposure, the safest thing to do is bring them to us immediately for a check-up.
Can my pet get a COVID-19 vaccine?
A COVID-19 vaccine for pets does exist, but it’s not a standard or recommended vaccine for dogs and cats right now. The risk of them spreading the virus is very low. The best way to protect your whole family—pets included—is to wash your hands well before and after handling your pet and to keep your own vaccines current. If you have more questions, just ask our vets!
